Rider Preparedness

Come both physically and mentally prepared!  Rest and make sure to hydrate well the night before and leading up to your event.  And of course on the day of, manage your day and make sure you are hydrating and resting in the shade, eating and riding of course!  Also, make sure to review the ARS Checklist too!

Getting to the Track

You may ride your bike or transport it to DCTC.  We have space for you and your bike and space for a vehicle and/or trailer.    Many enjoy transporting, especially when  you can load up the bike and drive back home relaxed in the A.C. Plenty of folks on hand to assist if you need help loading or unloading.

Weather/Cancellation Protocol

We do ride in the rain, so please be prepared to do so.  In the unlikely event of inclement weather or weather not conducive for riding (example day long thunderstorms or blizzard), a cancellation could occur.  If any such determination were made or any changes to the schedule, our TeamApp would be updated and you may receive a courtesy email to notify you of any changes. If there are no changes to the event, we may not send an update.

Check-in – How you start your day!

All riders must check in per the scheduled times at the trailer checkin.  You’ll sign a few electronic forms, you’ll be given a program that includes a schedule and a sticker for the front of your bike (windscreen or upper fairing).  If you don’t check-in, you may forfeit your space in ARS.  If you are running late, let us know, so we can accomodate a late arrival.

Configuration

We will ride the regular or long configuration on the track as detailed in the  track map in this guide.  Note - On a daytime ARS’s, we may ride the regular or long configuration; evenings are always the regular configuration.

Rules/Prep/Tech

All riders must carefully review "Rules/Prep" in this guide, which will also best prepare you for the upcoming school.

We do a self-tech and trust that you will comply.  You will still need to follow the rules and preparation for your bike and gear and sign-off at the check-in table that you've met the bike and rider requirements to pass tech.  We may “tech” a few random bikes as well to ensure this is being followed.

Curriculum

Varies by level and may vary more for levels 3-6.

Track/Class Time*

Riders are scheduled for “track” time as well as class time.  The class portion will be extremely helpful and will compliment your riding progression; coached will accompany riders on all track sessions.  If an instructor finds it necessary to move a rider into another group, rider must comply, as this is for your own safety and the safety of others.

Class locations are on the parking lot diagram.  Make sure to bring your chair or grab a loaner chair!

*Some experienced ARS riders may chose to participate as an “Individual Skills” Rider and will just have “track” time, but have the option to sit in on any class.  If you’d like to do this, email us!

One-on-one

For daytime events, riders have the opportunity to do a “one-on-one” session with an instructor in the afternoon.  It is recommended to reserve it online ahead of time, as spaces are limited; reserve in the “a la carte” section (ARS Registration page).
