Track Day Levels Explanation- Riding Groups/Moves

If you’re unsure if you’re in the proper, best fitting group, contact us now. If you blatantly register for the wrong group and it doesn’t get fixed, it’s very possible that you may forfeit your Track Day and paid fees, being our events do fill and there is not always space to move groups when it’s the rider’s mistake.  Riders with no racetrack experience must be in the Novice New Rider group, no exceptions.

Riders must be approved before moving levels  All riders are evaluated throughout the day by control riders for potential moves for the current day and for future track days.  If you’d like to be evaluated, you can locate a Control Rider for an on-track evaluation. New Novice Riders are not evaluated for moves to Intermediate on their first day.

In the event a rider is not up to pace in their current level, ZARS reserves the right to move riders to the best fitting group. This will minimize congestion and make for a more pleasurable experience for everyone.

Below is a general explanation of the levels.

Novice New Riders: Riders who are new to the racetrack and have not done a Track Day before.

Novice Returning Riders: First, second or third time on a racetrack or current Novice riders. These riders are experienced Track Day riders who ride at a slow to moderate pace.

Intermediate 1: Riders who have recently been approved for Intermediate or current Intermediate riders.  These riders will have previous motorcycle riding experience on a Race Track (done several track days), comfortable with passing and being passed and has enough track time that they are comfortable at an accelerated riding pace.

Intermediate 2: Riders who have recently been approved for Intermediate 2 or current Intermediate 2 riders.   These riders will have previous motorcycle riding experience on a Race Track, comfortable with passing and being passed on the inside and outside of the corners and ride at a fast pace.

Advanced: Current Advanced ZARS Riders or riders who have recently been approved for Advanced.

NOTE- ZARS Advanced Riding School (DCTC) or general riding experience at DCTC does not qualify as “track experience” and the levels at ARS do NOT correspond to Track Day levels.
